Winter
sports of all kinds are available here in
the Franconia Notch area. Downhill and cross-country
skiing are probably the most popular winter
pastimes. Snowshoeing, tubing, ice skating,
ice climbing, winter hiking, or just plain
relaxing by an open fire with a good book
are all available. We are able to provide
our guests with discounted Cannon
Mt. lift tickets. Other nearby
ski areas include Bretton Woods and Loon.
The Franconia Cross-Country Center is just
2 miles away and has an extensive trail
system throughout the Easton Valley.
In June the towns
of Franconia and Sugar Hill are host to
the Fields of Lupine Festival, a spectacular show for photographers of all abilities.
In the summer our guests enjoy hiking the
nearby mountains, flying from the Franconia
Soaring Center, swimming at Echo Lake, exploring
Franconia Notch and all it has to offer.
There are several golf
courses in the area to test one's skills.
Check the Franconia Notch Chamber web site

Attractions www.visitwhitemountains.com
for a more complete list of area events.
Our busiest time is from mid-September to
early October when the trees are dressed
in a vivid display of color and the hills
turn into a rainbow of reds, oranges and
yellows. It is a good idea to make reservations
early for this time period, and if you can,
plan your visit during the week when the
roads and restaurants are less crowded. |
